GARDAÍ are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body found at a house in a housing estate in Bandon.
The woman, understood to be a mother of three in her 30s, lived at Richmond Court and was found by one of her children in the living room on Friday morning who alerted neighbours.
It is understood that one of the children was due to make their first holy communion this weekend.
Her body was discovered on Friday morning and emergency services attended the scene where there were no signs of forced entry to the premises.
The woman’s body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem was due to be carried out, the results of which will determine how the investigation proceeds.
Gardaí are making local enquiries to try to establish the woman’s whereabouts over the last two days; anyone with any information is asked to contact Bandon Garda Station.
