One to One Support

Cancer patients, their families, carers and friends are welcome to drop in to Cork ARC Cancer Support House near Bantry, for support and information. Open each Tuesday and Thursday at “The Bungalow”, Goureebeg, Bantry, from 10.00am to 4.00pm, no appointment is necessary, and their centre is homely and informal. You will be welcomed by Cork ARC’s cancer support team of volunteer listeners, therapists and counsellors, led by oncology nurse, Catriona O’Mahony. Counselling, therapeutic massage and reflexology are available on a one to one basis.

Information and Education

Are you coping with the death of a loved one from cancer? Cork ARC Cancer Support House are hosting a Bereavement Support Information Evening at their centre near Bantry on Tuesday 28th November. This Information Evening is open to anyone coping with the death of a loved one from cancer who feels they would like to learn and understand more about the grieving process. The evening will include a mix of information, discussion and sharing that may support them in their loss.

Keeping a healthy and well-balanced diet during and after cancer treatment can be challenging – for all the family. Cork ARC Cancer Support House are hosting a Diet in Cancer Information Evening at O’Donovan’s Hotel, Clonakilty on Wednesday 17th January 2018, from 7.00 – 9.00pm. The evening is aimed at helping cancer patients and their families understand more about diet and nutrition during and after a cancer diagnosis.  

Improving Health, Exercise and Wellbeing

The drop in ‘Hour of Calm’ session continues every Tuesday at “The Bungalow” from 11.00am. All those affected by cancer are welcome to drop in without an appointment to take part in a guided hour of relaxation and calming meditation.

Group programmes for Yoga commence on Tuesday 7th November and for Mindfulness and Pilates for Men commence on Thursday 9th November.
