Walkers make their mark once again

As the clouds burnt off to reveal the sun 526 walkers made the 22km track from The Viaduct to Bandon on Sunday July 16th.

The road was busy as McCarthy Coaches ferried the walkers to the Viaduct before the 10am start time.

The other main sponsor Ace Signs and media sponsors C103fm had vans on the road stewarding the group.

Refreshment Stops along the route were sponsored by Caulfields Supervalue Bandon, Dessi Electrical Bandon, Lidl &M & P O’Sullivan, O’Sullivan Centra Innishannon and finally ABP Bandon hosted the refreshments back at the Town Hall Bandon.

Carol Crean spokesperson for Make your Mark stressed that the aim to reach the target of €250,000.00 in the five years since its beginning is still alive it’s now down getting the cards back by 1st August and there is still time to make a donation on

Fiona Curran talked of all the people walking in memory of loved ones lost of family and friends currently battling cancer she was optimistic that the planning will be granted soon on the Mercy Hospital Cancer Care Centre.  She said that this facility will be fantastic for patients and their families when they are facing into the darkest days of their lives. “The walkers sponsors and supporters have a lot to be proud of we are making a mark on Cancer Care in Cork which will last well into the future”.
