Now in its 5th. Year, Skibbereen Down and Dirty Charity Adventure challenge was launched at the Eldon Hotel, Skibbereen on Wednesday night last.
To date 3,000 peole have taken part and over 60,000 euros has been raised for West Cork Rapid Response, Down Syndrome West Cork Support Group and Co-Action Skibbereen.
Speaking of behalf of the organisers, Don Davis thanked Main Sposors, Peter and Anna Warburton, of Cottages for Couples for their continued support, along with all other sponsors, landowners and stewards who make this event possible.
Timo Stern of Lisard Estate, who host the event, said his family and staff were delighted to be involved in raising funds for the local organisations, while Shelia Carroll of Co-Action, Skibbereen outlined that the money raised is used for Bus Trips and outings.
Aaodh O’Donnell, West Cork Rapid Response outlined West Cork Rapid Responses role in Saving Lives in West Cork and how valuable contributtions make to mainting this valuable voluntary service in our community.
The event takes place on Saturday, November, 25th at Lissard Estate, Skibbereen, 6 kilomoters of natural obstacles, mud, and magnificient paths in the Estate and surrounding properties.
The event is unique in which 100% of everyones entry fee is donated to the organisations nominated.
