Severe Weather Alert issued, council staff on standby

Met Éireann has issued a Code Level Orange weather warning with 50 to 70mm of rainfall expected, mainly along coastal areas and on hills and mountains. Valid from 00:02 Monday 15th May until 01:00 Tuesday 16th 2017.

Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Alert Team convened through a conference call today, Sunday 14th in response to the Met Éireann Weather Alert. In response, all flooding hot spots have been checked. Relevant staff are being made aware of forecasted conditions in case they are called into action in the coming hours.
