AN exciting exhibition opens on Friday evening 16th June in the Aisling Gallery featuring the work of two well known West Cork artists Sara Hodson and Dee Pieters.

Artist Sara Hodson is Ireland’s top female equestrian artist and was recently elected a Full Member of the UK Society of Equestrian Artists, the first Irish equestrian artist to be elected. Sara is increasingly well known in equestrian circles and is commissioned worldwide.

She works in her studio in Reenascreena on equestrian paintings and watercolour landscapes of West Cork. She regularly exhibits in the UK and will be exhibiting her latest work at the Palace House in Newmarket, England in July.

Alone in the Bay Dee Pieters

Dee Pieters works in oils, mainly with palette knife, to achieve texture, tone and depth.  A signature theme of her work is the play of light on water. Trained in Devon, London and Ireland, Dee has exhibited successfully since 2000 and has been included in selected group shows in London (2012/13), Dublin, Cork City and West Cork.

Her work is in private collections in Ireland, the UK, mainland Europe, USA, Hong Kong, and South Africa as well as with corporate clients and the Office of Public Works. Dee’s painting ‘Dreaming of West Cork’ is on display in Brussels at the headquarters of Ireland’s representative to the European Union.
