Kilmeen & Kilbree GAA Club Notes

Kilmeen U12's complete the Double! They defeated Argideen Rangers to win the U12 football shield

Kilmeen U12’s are Double Champions!”

Kilmeen U12 footballers defeated a strong Timoleague side to win the U12 West Cork league. They had already defeated Ahan Gaels to win the U12 hurling competition, thereby completing the “Double” in 2017.

Some fine scores by Cillian Twohig, Luka Mohan and Peter O’Sullivan gave the Kilmeen boys a four point advantage at half time.

Weather conditions were difficult in the second half. Goals win games and some great Kilmeen goals in the second half, put a distance between both sides. The final score was Kilmeen 7-13 Argideen Rangers 4-12.

Thanks to Argideen Rangers for the refreshments after the match.

U10 Football

Some of these players were involved in an U10 football blitz on Saturday morning. The boys were invited to take part in a blitz in Whites Cross. Wet and mucky conditions did not prevent this group of boys from playing some great football. They won all three of their matches against Whites Cross, St Nick’s and Croke Rovers. Thanks to everyone in Whites Cross for inviting us to this well organised fun blitz and for the refreshments afterwards.

Despite Kilbree’s best efforts, Granard Gaels were stronger in the second half. The final score was Granard Gaels 5-14 Kilbree 1-9.
