RENNOVATION works to Ballydehob Garda Station will be completed by the end of this month (August) according to the Office of Public Works (OPW).

The work involves insulating the exterior walls and painting the interior of the accommodation quarters.

Tenders for the work were recently sought and the tendering process was finalised last week.

Minister of State Brian Hayes, who is responsible for the OPW, has confirmed that works on the accommodation quarters attached will be finished by the end of the month.

Labour TD Michael McCarthy welcomed the news saying, “This is a pleasing development on an important local issue that I have been working on for several weeks now.

“This follows ongoing work between myself, the local community and Minister Hayes, whom I have been closely liaising with on this matter. I look forward to the work being completed later this month”.
