WEST CORK-based food company Follaín who produce traditional jams and preserves in Ballyvourney have been named as the winners of the Love Irish Food Brand Elevator Award in association with Independent Newspapers.

Follaín beat off competition from 36 other companies to win a €200,000 advertising campaign.

 

Kieran Rumley, executive director of Love Irish Foods said that Follaín’s commitment “to the local community and Irish heritage in an extremely competitive sector is of huge credit to them”.

 

The company was founded in 1983 by husband and wife team Mairín and Peadar Ui Lionaird and started out using an 100-year-old recipe for chunky grapefruit marmalade and now operates from state-of-the-art production facilities in Ballyvourney.
