The alarm was raised by a female who was also at the house and understood to be the partner of one of the deceased.

Gardaí from Bandon have launched an investigation; both males were pronounced dead at the scene and the area was sealed off for a technical examination.

The office of the state pathologist has also been notified.

Both men were 22-years-old and have been named locally as Michael Coleman from Dungarvan and Liam Coffey from Cappoquin.

Early indications suggest they may have died as the result of a drugs overdose.

The cause of death will not be confirmed until post mortems and possibly toxicology tests are carried out.

House to house inquiries are also being undertaken in the area.
