THE Carbery Hunt’s kennels in Bandon will have to close on foot of a court order after complaints from neighbours about excessive noise.

Local residents in the area had complained about constant howling and barking from the kennels keeping them awake at night.

The hunt had installed measures including piped music to try and calm the dogs and reduce the noise, but to no avail.

The hunt has housed dogs in the old barrack mill building in Bandon for the last 80 years but following the decision by Judge Aeneas McCarthy they will now have to find a new home.
