A FORMER Clonakilty solicitor has been struck off by the Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal after being found guilty of professional misconduct.

Alexander Gibbons of Gibbons & Co. Kent Street can no longer practice as a solicitor following the High Court ruling.

He was found guilty on eight counts of misconduct including paying monies received by a client for stamp duty into his own account, falsely accusing clients of not paying stamp duty, fabricating letters and failing to register mortgages.
