MORE than €2.5 million has been allocated to harbour projects and coastal development programmes in West Cork. THE 2013 Rose of Tralee, Haley O’Sullivan is set to visit her ancestral home of Bere Island, West Cork on Sunday 13th October 2013. This will be Haley’s first visit since being crowned the Rose. Representing Texas, Haley won the prestigious competition in Tralee in August, becoming the 55th Rose of Tralee.

WEST Cork’s own David Syme, internationally-renowned pianist, will appear at the Triskel Christchurch in Cork on July 24th at 1pm and at the Lecture Theatre, Rerrin, Bere Island on August 2nd at 8pm. The Bere Island date will be filmed for a profile on RTE television and a ferry will leave from the Pontoon, beside Berehaven Golf Club at 7pm and will return after the concert.
TRACE Elements, an exhibition by Alison Cronin, Rebecca Keyser and Peggy Townend, will take place in the community hall on Sherkin Island, Co. Cork from Friday 2nd til Monday 5th August.
