CareChoice Clonakilty’s Old Time Fair encourages older people to embrace their rural Irish heritage on many levels.

The Festival’s aim was to remind the residents of CareChoice Clonakilty of the events and traditions they once loved, to encourage outdoor activities and communication between the residents their families and the staff from CareChoice Clonakilty Nursing Home and Retirement Village.

According to Maureen O’Donovan, Director of Nursing at CareChoice Clonakilty, “The Old Time Fair demonstrates yet again that a move to a nursing Home is merely a ‘change of address’ for older people as their social life and outdoor pursuits continues apace, and in some cases, is brought to light for the first time.

“I think the Festival has brought us all closer together to share experiences of days gone by.

“I am particularly proud of the immense hard work of all the CareChoice Team and our volunteers to make the day possible,” she said.
