AUDITIONS for the Briery Gap’s April production of Calamity Jane will take place at the Briery Gap on Sunday, January 29th from 4pm with Kevin Hough.

Calamity Jane was adapted by Ronald Hanmer and Phil Park from the stage play by Charles K Freeman after the Warner Brothers film written by James O’Hanlon with lyrics by Paul Francis Webster, music by Sammy Fain.

The 1953 film musical version starred Doris Day in the title role and was loosely based on the life of real Wild West frontierswoman Calamity Jane and explored her alleged romance with Wild Bill Hickok played by Howard Keel.

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd.
