A boil water warning is in place.

CORK County Council have issued a boil water notice to consumers supplied with water by the Kealkill Water Treatment Plant.

The Council are currently investigating a possible contamination of the water supply with the Cryptosporidium bug.

Consumers are being advised to boil water as a precautionary measure pending further investigations on the advice of the HSE.

All users on the Kealkill Water Supply Scheme should boil water before use.
Water must be boiled for drinking, drinks made with water, preparation of salads and similar foods which are not cooked prior to eating, brushing teeth and the making of ice.
The Council is advising that a detailed boil water notice and leaflet will be issued to consumers tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.
Updates will also be provided on the council’s website.
