The 8th Annual Courtmacsherry-Timoleague 10k road race will take place on Friday 26th June at 8pm. Officially measured, chip timed flat and fast coarse just 45 minutes from Cork city. The course runs along side the beautiful Courtmacsherry bay and if you want to set a personal best this is the course to do it on.
CORK County Council has backed a motion calling for the route of the Wild Atlantic Way to be extended to include the coastal route from Clonakilty to Timoleague. Asking for support for the motion from Council colleagues, Sinn Fein councillor Paul Hayes highlighted the fact that the route currently bypasses this headland “of incredible natural beauty” where active communities work hard to promote the area.

Katie Sexton Timoleague won this year’s all Ireland Under 16 road bowling final against local Ulster and Armagh winner Shannon Mallon. The final was played over the Blackwatertown Road a village north of Armagh city. A large following from Timoleague saw Katie win the final by over a bowl of odds in a very exciting finish.
A THREE year-old-boy who was dragged along by a car in an horrific accident in Barryroe is in a serious but stable condition in hospital in Dublin it has been confirmed. The accident happened on the main Clonakilty – Timoleague road at about 7.30pm last Thursday evening.

GARDAÍ in Bandon are investigating a serious road traffic accident which occurred at Barryroe on Thursday evening. The collision occurred at approximately 6.30pm at Barryroe, on the Clonakilty to Timoleague road about five miles from Clonakilty.

A MOTHER and her young son had a narrow escape when their car skidded into the icy waters of Courtmacsherry Bay during the recent bad weather. Luckily the car was travelling at very low speed at the time of the skid which happened on the road between Courtmac and Timoleague.

AN estimated 15,000 people thronged Courtmacsherry and Timoleague over the weekend for the All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships which took place in Broadstrand Bay. It turned out to be a very successful event for rowing clubs from across West Cork too with GalleyFlash taking the senior men’s title and Myross taking the best adult crew accolade.
UP to 10,000 people are expected to attend the All Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships being held in Courtmacsherry’s Broadstrand Bay this weekend. More than 2,000 rowers from across the country will take part including a strong West Cork contingent.
