Junior hurlers record narrow victory over Newcestown! On Friday evening, the junior hurlers took on Newcestown in a league fixture in Rossmore. This was a very exciting, well matched affair. The Kilbree lads were lucky to record a one point victory.

Easter Camp 2016 is a huge success! Over seventy children took part in the club’s annual Easter Camp in Rossmore. They enjoyed three days of hurling and football fun, under the expert guidance of coaches James Desmond, Paudie Crowley and Shane O’Donovan. Juniors lose Munster Final to Sneen-Derrynane! Kilmeen were hoping to be the second Cork team in ten years to capture the Munster Junior B football crown. Munster Football Final The Munster junior football final against Sneem/Derrynane (Kerry) has been scheduled for Sunday 13th March. The fixture will take place in Knockaderry (Co Limerick) at 1.45pm. A BUSY month ahead for the club with supporting Carbery macra clubs at various events. Sneem Derrynane (Kerry) recorded a comprehensive victory over Ballinacourty (Waterford) in the second semi-final of the Munster junior b football championship, last Sunday in Knockaderry(Limerick). Junior Footballers Qualify for Munster Final! Kilmeen’s Junior B footballers qualified for a historic Munster football final on Sunday. It has been a long season for this cohort of players. They won the county title last July. They won the Munster quarter-final in mid-November and had to wait till mid-February for the next round. The Munster semi-final was played against Fedamore (Limerick) in Knockaderry.

21st December 2015 U13 Carbery Stars graduate! The graduation of the U13 Carbery hurling/football panels took place in the West Cork Hotel on Sunday evening. The U13 Academy has been organised by James McCarthy, who was ably assisted by a number of coaches on a weekly basis.
Dinner Dance The club’s dinner dance will take place on Friday 29th January in Fernhill House Hotel. The occasion will celebrate the county success of the junior footballers, the success of the U21 footballers and the U14 hurlers. Ray Collins wins Carbery All-Star Ray Collins won a football Carbery All-Star award on Friday night in the West Lodge Hotel in Bantry. Ray captained the Kilmeen juniors to win the County Final V Grange in July. Ray is an outstanding captain and leads by example both on and off the field of play. This is a well-deserved accolade for a truly superb footballer and captain.
Kilmeen Qualify for Munster Semi-Final Kilmeen played the Junior B football Munster Quarter final against Clare Champions, Killimer on Sunday afternoon 22nd November in Knockaderry, Co. Limerick. Kilmeen won the toss and played with the breeze during the first half on an immaculate grass surface.

LAST Saturday evening, November 8th, GalleyFlash Rowing Club were delighted to be joint recipients with COPE Clonakilty of a presentation from Rathbarry and District Vintage Club. Both groups received cheques for €2,500 from the Vintage Club, proceeds from their recent Vintage Run and Family Fun Day. Kilbree U14 Hurlers complete the Double! Kilbree U14 hurlers defeated St Oliver Plunketts on Sunday morning to claim the U14 league title. Great fun at U8 & U10 Monster blitz! On Saturday last, over thirty of Kilmeen’s youngest players took part in a Monster U8 and U10 football blitz. This huge event was well organised. On Saturday last, September 26th, GalleyFlash Rowing Club held its annual RunForestRun. With a new 5 mile multi terrain course making its debut for runners and the traditional 5km road route making a comeback for walkers, the course was in pristine condition in the glorious autumn sunshine.
Minor Hurling Kilbree minors met Pedlars in the league final on Sunday last. Kilbree had the better of exchanges in the first half leading at the break. St Fachtnas U12s played St Patricks in Ardfield in the U12 Autumn League Final recently, their first final as an amalgamated team.
On this coming Saturday, September 26th, GalleyFlash Rowing Club will host the annual Run Forest Run. Registration will open at 1pm at the boathouse in Kilkern Lake with action getting underway at 2pm. With a new long course set to debut this year incorporating road, forest and beach running, it promises to be an exciting afternoon of sporting action. THE school year has kicked off at MICC Dunmanway with a large contingent of enthusiastic first year students settling in very well. The whole student body was presented a talk by County Cork Fire Service where the officers demonstrated a chip pan fire in the school’s car park and guided students how to extinguish fires properly.
