€20,000 for winning Cork community entries to KBC Bright Ideas Competition KBC are looking for ideas which are innovative, creative and that will make a difference in a community in Cork. A fund of €80,000 split between Cork, Limerick, Galway and Dublin, has been made available by KBC for the winning ideas, which will transform and make their communities a better place to live in.
LOCAL man Jonas Rennings of Tralibane, Bantry, relocated to Cairns Australia in 2010 with his wife Melissa and two young children. In the week before Christmas 2011, Melissa went to the doctor, and shortly afterwards was diagnosed with breast cancer. She started chemotherapy immediately, followed by radiation.
CONNELLY’S of Leap host a special fundraising event in March for the families of the crewmen who sadly died when the Tit Bonhomme sank at the entrance to Glandore Harbour on Sunday, January 15th last. The event takes place on Saturday, March 10th with doors opening at 8pm. Tickets will be priced at €15 and an exciting line-up is promised by the event’s organisers.
