A RURAL community near Drimoleague is in mourning following the death of a local child in a tragic farm accident. Three-year-old Fionn Mulhall was crushed by a mechanical digger in the yard of the family farm at Gurtnascreena about four miles west of Drimoleague just before 11am on Friday, August 1st.
AN estimated €120,000 worth of cannabis plants were seized by gardaí in an operation at a property in Church Cross near Skibbereen. The property was raided by officers from the West Cork Divisional Drugs Squad at around 3pm on Wednesday and 150 plants were discovered.

It was certainly something of a surprise for the Crowleys when they discovered that one of their cows had unexpectedly given birth to triplets. The Crowleys, of Derrincorrin in Adrigole on the Beara Peninsula come from generations of farmers.
