A fundraising event for Cancer Research, Cork will be held on Sunday May 4th in Sacred Heart Church, Glengarriff at 7.30pm. The event, titled A Celebration of Light is a gala concert with local, national and international artists taking part. IRELAND’S leading violinist Catherine Leonard will be joined by renowned pianist Hugh Tinney to bring the curtain down on West Cork Music’s 2013 Concert Series. On Saturday 19th October at 8pm, they will perform works by Beethoven, Fauré and Brahms in an unmissable performance in the intimate library of Bantry House.
A special concert is taking place on July 17th in the Kilgariffe Church, Clonakilty in aid of Amnesty International. Clonakilty based composer and violinist Justin Grounds is bringing together his many musical friends and colleagues for a unique program of works from the baroque to the modern.

SKIBBEREEN will be alive with the sounds of music this weekend as part of this year’s Irish Performing Arts Festival for people with intellectual disabilities and autism. Since 2009, COPE Foundation has pioneered and successfully hosted the international Festival, whose patron is President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, and this year’s event which runs from June 27 -30 is set to be bigger and better than ever.
