Gardaí in Clonakilty are investigating a fatal road traffic collision near Rosscarberry on the 8th of March 2016. At approximately 7.10pm an 18-year-old male pedal cyclist was seriously injured when he was struck by a car at Barley Hill, on the Clonakilty to Skibbereen road just west of Rosscarbery. He was pronounced dead at the scene, His body was removed to CUH and a post mortem was expected to be carried out on March 9th. The
ONE person has died following an accident between a car and a truck on the main N22 Cork – Killarney road. The accident happened at around 6am on the eastern side of Macroom and the victim is understood to have been the only occupant of the car. The age and sex of the victim has not been confirmed.
GARDAÍ in Bantry are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred near Skibbereen. The accident is believed to have happened sometime between 10pm on Thursday, November 21st and 7am on Friday, November 22nd at Tooreen on the L4231 road which runs from the Skibbereen – Drimoleague road to Drinagh village.
AN elderly couple have died and four other people have been injured following a two-car, head-on collision on the main N22 Cork – Killarney road at Lissarda near Crookstown. The accident happened at 6.25 pm when the two cars struck each other on a bend between the Crookstown turn off and Lissarda village.
GARDAÍ in Skibbereen are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal road traffic collision at Mohonagh, Skibbereen, that occurred on Sunday evening. The collision involving a car and motorcycle happened at around 5pm on the main N71, Skibbereen to Ballydehob road about three miles outside Skibbereen.
TRIBUTES have been paid to Sean Hurley from Ballinhassig who tragically died in a road accident last Wednesday. Twenty five-year-old Mr Hurley’s jeep struck a tree in very poor driving conditions at Bawnleigh on the Halfway to Kinsale road.
