Castle Hotel appoints new deputy general manager

Macroom Mad Hatters Ball for Help Them HOPE

ON February 25th the Castle Hotel Macroom was transformed into a wonderland of glitz and glamour as it welcomed guests to the Mad Hatter’s Black Tie Ball in aid of Help Them HOPE, a charity based in Lima Peru. Help Them HOPE helps students with disabilities become more independent through higher education opportunities, peer support, independent living classes, and career guidance. HUNDREDS of people attended a meeting in Macroom’s Castle Hotel to organise a campaign to retain Macroom Community Hospital. Fears are growing that the hospital may be targeted for closure due to ongoing cuts to health service budgets with signals from government indicating that community hospitals with less than 50 beds, like Macroom, may be targeted.

THERE was plenty of festive cheer in the streets of Macroom on Monday as the Castle Hotel launched its “Festive Fiesta” tapas and cocktails menu for the holiday season. Santa’s little helpers were seen distributing personal samples of tasty tapas to much appreciated, hard working local businesses.
