AFTER years of trying, false dawns, set backs and disappointments, the nation’s second busiest airport is finally set to see direct, scheduled flights to the USA. Cork Airport has warmly welcomed the announcement from low cost carrier Norwegian that it plans to operate a direct Cork-Boston service from next May and that it also intends to launch a new Cork-New York service in 2017. A Cork-Barcelona service is also planned
STAFF from Cork and Dublin Airport took part in a charity cycle recently in aid of Bee for Battens. Thirty cyclists departed from outside Cork Airport and cycled 160 kilometres along the N71 to Kenmare.
THERE were scenes of jubilation at Cork Airport on Monday night as West Cork’s very own record breaker, endurance swimmer Steve Redmond returned home to a hero’s welcome. Steve was greeted by wife Ann, children Siadbh and Stevie, family members and hundreds of well wishers, friends and supporters.
