WEST Cork based Gubbeen Farmhouse Products Ltd has been approved to receive funding of €200,000 to build a new processing plant at Gubbeen Farm, Schull, to manufacture Gubbeen Smokehouse products. The award form the West Cork Development Partnership was announced by Alan Kelly, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government.

A TASTE of West Cork Food Festival, which runs annually in September, has announced the winners of the prestigious Belling West Cork Artisan Food Awards, held at Liss Ard Estate, Skibbereen recently, and which recognises excellence in artisan food production. The awards went to Caherbeg Free Range Pork (Rosscarbery, Co. Cork) and Toonsbridge Dairy (Macroom) which produces Mozarella cheese.
