The West Cork Rural Transport Team.

CANCER Connect, the voluntary transport service run by West Cork Rural Transport that brings cancer patients to hospitals in Cork from all over West Cork will be launching a West Cork Anthology’ of “WestCorky” poems in readiness for the 2012 Christmas market.

They are therefore looking for original poems based on some aspect of life in the area, be it a place, an event, a personality, a landmark, a river or even a local delicacy.

Having tested the market, it was found that a large section of the public enjoys reading verse, especially if it has a relevance to something they know, and this will be even more true of friends and relatives who no longer live here but like to keep in touch.

It is hoped to collect a truly representative selection.

Contributions may be sent to Nick Turner at or to Cancer Connect (Helen O’Driscoll) at 5 Main Street, Bantry.
