GARDAÍ are asking anyone with any information relating to the body discovered in Glandore on Sunday to come forward.
The body of a 65-year-old man was discovered at 11:15am in a rented flat near the Marine Hotel in the village on Sunday, he has since been identified as Stanley Giles who was originally from Rosscarbery.
Mr Giles’ body was discovered in the flat in Pier House when neighbours became concerned that they had not seen him for some time.
Gardaí believe his body may have been in the flat for up to two weeks.
They are also appealing for anyone who may have seen Mr Giles in recent weeks to come forward as they try to piece together his final movements.
He was last seen at around 11pm on Monday, June 25th when he took a lift home from his sister’s house in Rosscarbery.
Mr Giles was a separated father of three and is believed to have been living in Glandore for several months.
A post mortem was carried out on his remains on Tuesday but further tests have been requested to ascertain the cause of death.
