West Cork’s biggest golf event takes place from July 15th-22nd with open golf competitions throughout the week for men, seniors, juniors, mixed teams and ladies. Visitors are very welcome.
Fundraising ISPCC volunteers from the Cork office will be on hand over the final weekend to help raise cash.
The work of The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) fosters better relationships between parents and children while promoting better understanding of children’s needs.
ISPCC Childline’s vision is to see an Ireland where all children are heard and valued.
Jack Lynch Committee Chairman, Noel Kearney, said, “The Jack Lynch Memorial Open Week is our flagship event and, with the hole-in-one car prize on offer this year, we’re anticipating large numbers of visitors.
“We have a strong commitment to junior golf at Skibbereen so we’re delighted to support such a worthy children’s cause.”
Charity caddies will also be available over the final weekend for the Jack Lynch Ladies’ Team Event and the Men’s three-man team classic at €20 per round
Half of all money raised from the charity caddies will go towards the ISPCC and half to Leap National School.
Caddies are pre-bookable only so if you would like to book a caddy for your Jack Lynch round of golf, or if you know any teenagers interested in caddying, please call Eamonn at the clubhouse on 028 21227.
There are fantastic prizes on offer including a men’s four ball at the Old Head of Kinsale, a ladies’ 3ball stay at Faithlegg Golf Club and of course the coveted Jack Lynch Classic trophy which will be played for over two days on July 21st-22nd.
Shoot a hole-in-one on the 17th hole on the final weekend and you could win a VW Up! 2012 World Car of the Year.
Also enter the Player Prize Draw where you could win a €500 discount voucher off the price of a new or used car courtesy of Blackwater Motors, Skibbereen.
There’s also a BBQ party night on Saturday, July 20th kindly supported by The Paragon Bar, Skibbereen and the whole week is rounded off by gala prize giving night attended by players, sponsors and local press on Sunday, July 21st.
