THE 2012 Allihies Summer Arts Festival takes place this year on June 15th, 16th and 17th at the Old Allihies Schoolhouse.
The festival will be officially opened on Friday, June 15th at 8pm by patrons Theo Dorgan, Paula Meehan, Tony Curtis and local poet Leanne O’Sullivan followed by a performance of 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff with Trish Kessler and Leslie Clack.
On Saturday, June 16th at 7.30pm there will be a Bloomsday reading followed at 8pm by a performance of Prostitutes Marry in May written and performed by Miriam Cooper.
At 9.30pm is a performance of The Last Prince of Ireland – O’Sullivan Beara written and performed by Aidan Dooley.
On Sunday, June 17th at 8pm is More Lives Than One – Oscar Wilde and the Black Douglas written and performed by Leslie Clack and from 9.15 pm on a musical event.
Visual arts will be exhibited in the schoolhouse throughout the weekend.
A supper (with wine), prepared by the Erickson chefs, will be served for €15 euros at the end of each evening.
