MONDAY morning was hectic at Caherbeg Free Range Pork in Rosscarbery as during production, everything was halted so that Willie Allshire could be inducted into the Fraternity, La Commanderie des Fins Goustiers du Duchy d’Alencon.
It was a very special moment as it took place at home with just the family and employees present to view.
Avril was later inducted at a ceremony in Clonakilty along with James and Jerry O’Leary, Butchers, Millstreet and Colette Twomey, Clonakilty Food Co.
Despite having such a small company without a shop front, Willie has consistently won awards for his products in Blas na hÉireann, Great Taste Awards (UK), France and Belgium.
All products are picked at random in the cold room and despatched.
All Rosscarbery Recipes products are made by Willie and his team in Caherbeg, Rosscarbery, and all using locally produced Irish pork.
