Sherkin Island will host a distinctive exhibition on Saturday and Sunday, May 19th– 20th next entitled “Out There”.

Featuring the work of the19 students about to graduate from the BA (hons) in Visual Art programme based on the Island, the exhibition brings new life and meaning to ‘art in the community’.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view paintings, drawings, sculpture, projections and installations at various locations throughout Sherkin Island – in the old ruined abbey, on the pier, in the community hall, the Jolly Roger pub, the Islander’s Rest, in people’s houses and gardens and on Silver Strand to form an art trail showcasing not only the work of the students and this innovative and unique visual art programme, but also Sherkin Island itself as a hub of arts and cultural activity.
