SPECSAVERS in Bandon teamed up with the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind by holding an in-store fundraising day recently to support the 2012 Shades Campaign. Staff and representatives from the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, along with some adorable puppies, were accepting donations from the public who gave generously throughout the day in support of the campaign.

All funds raised goes directly to the provision of services which include guide and assistance dogs for people living with sight loss or autism.

Store director, Marie Burke, says, ‘We would like to thank Specsavers Bandon customers who supported us in our fundraising efforts and helped us to raise much-needed funds for Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.

“Guide dogs are life- changing partners for people in Ireland who are living with sight loss. All funds raised will be going towards the cost of care and training of pups and their development into fully qualified guide dogs.’

The store will be selling SHADES pins throughout May and hoping that the public will help them to support the campaign.
