Action from last year's rally.

NEXT weekend Clonakilty will receive a welcome tourism boost as over 150 rally crews come to town to take part in this year’s Quality Hotel West Cork Rally.

After the success of the town stage last year it has been decided to run it twice this year on Saturday afternoon, St Patrick’s Day.

The Cork Motor Club who are organising the event would like to thank the residents and businesses of Clonakilty for their co-operation in making the town stages possible.

Last year's winner Robert Barrable.

Scrutiny will take place at the old Quay Motors premises on the by-pass on Friday, with stages in Ring, Ardfield and Clonakilty town on Saturday.

Sunday stages are in Ballinascarthy, Inchybridge, Reenascreena and Rossmore with the finishing ramp on Connolly Street on Sunday evening at 5pm.

The weekend will come to a close with a disco at the Quality Hotel Rally HQ on Sunday night.

Traffic and parking restrictions will be in place on Western Road from early on Saturday, March 17th to facilitate the running of the town stage.
