LOCAL Fine Gael TD Noel Harrington is urging people in West Cork to support the passing of the Fiscal Compact Treaty referendum which he says is “in the best interest of Ireland’s future and will help ensure our economic recovery”.
Deputy Harrington said the premise of the Treaty, which centres on responsible budgeting, has long been a commitment of the Fine Gael Party.
“We now have an opportunity to enshrine that concept in legislation so that future generations can be protected,” he said.
According to the Beara TD tighter budget control will ensure that the practices that led us to where we are now can never happen again
“By ratifying the Treaty, we can build on the steady progress the country has made in the past year and ensure that firm rules are in place to prevent the reckless mismanagement of our economy in the future,” he said.
