THE West Cork Chamber Music Festival takes place from Friday 29th June to Saturday 7 July. This is the Festival that has it all – a breathtaking line-up of world-class musicians playing an exciting programme of glorious music, all staged in the spectacular setting of Bantry, overlooking famous Bantry Bay in the heart of beautiful West Cork.

More than one hundred international and Irish musicians will be making their way to West Cork for this feast of fine music.

Internationally acclaimed string quartets, piano trios and the finest soloists in the world will be joined by a host of top-class singers for nine days of fantastic music-making in two exceptional venues: St Brendan’s Church and Bantry House.

For these nine days, Bantry becomes alive to the sound of music with concerts from morning to late night and rehearsals in every corner of the town.

With the string quartet at the heart of chamber music, the programme fittingly features celebrated Quartets from Germany, Poland, and Ireland as well as the multi-national period instrument quartet led by star violinist Alina Ibragimova.

World- famous cellist Natalie Clein wil also play two Bach Suites and the Irish Chamber Orchestra play a stunning concert of works by Britten, Larcher, and Bartok.

A violin-making exhibition takes place in the Old Cinema while young musicians study under virtuoso musicians in masterclasses which are open to the public.
