15,000 visitors attended the event.

AN estimated 15,000 people thronged Courtmacsherry and Timoleague over the weekend for the All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships which took place in Broadstrand Bay.

It turned out to be a very successful event for rowing clubs from across West Cork too with GalleyFlash taking the senior men’s title and Myross taking the best adult crew accolade.

The men’s quadruple was won by hosts Courtmacsherry and Ahakista scored a doubles-double taking both the men’s and women’s doubles titles.

More than 500 crews took part in the three-day event and both Courtmac and Timoleague were packed with visitors from all over Ireland as the festivities continued over the weekend.
