AN Englishman wanted for questioning by UK police in relation to the botched Dunlough Bay drug smuggling operation has been arrested in Portugal.
Lee Dryden form Bermondsey in South East London was arrested on yacht in the Algarve last week when Portuguese police discovered 170kg of cocaine aboard the vessel.
The 49-year-old is wanted for questioning by the UK authorities in relation to the €440 million drugs haul off the Mizen Head five years ago, one of the largest in the history of the state.
The smuggling operation went wrong when a rib being used to transport the drugs to shore from the yacht Lucky Day capsized in heavy seas.
Six men have already been convicted for their part in the operation and another suspect is awaiting trial while two (including Dryden) remained at large and another suspected member of gang took his own life.
