BRITISH pop band Scouting for Girls look set to rock Saturday night of this year’s Clonakilty Waterfront Festival.
The English trio will descend on the West Cork town on August 4 in what will be their first Irish gig in two years, with huge support from The Kanyu Tree, Relish and B Positives.
The guys are thrilled to be part of this year’s festival, and have already set up a Facebook event for their fans.
Roy Stride of Scouting for Girls said: “D’you know we haven’t played Ireland for ages. I think the last time was over two years ago, so we’re really looking forward to playing in Clonakilty.”
The band’s biggest hits include ‘This Ain’t A Love Song’, ‘Elvis Isn’t Dead’, ‘Heartbeat’, and ‘She’s So Lovely’.
Scouting for Girls was nominated for three BRIT Awards in 2009, and again in 2011 for Best British Song. The trio was also nominated in the Best New Act category in the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Tickets for this gig are currently available from www.clonfest.ie as well as various outlets in Clonakilty, and are priced at €29.95.
