BEARA-based musician David Syme will play a one-off concert at Cork’s Triskel Christchurch venue of Friday, August 17th next.
The American piano virtuoso has had a long and colourful career performing in Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Centre, Kennedy Centre, Wigmore Hall, and in major venues in 17 European countries, Canada and Mexico.
An alumnus of Juilliard and Indiana University, he was a protégé of the legendary Jorge Bolet and has recorded two dozen CD’s with such orchestras as the Royal Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony, and the Czech National Symphony,
He is best known here for his “Living-Room Concerts”, held about 25 times a year in his the Beara home and has featured on RTÉ’s Nationwide.
He had sold-out performances this year in February at Fota House and in July at Bantry House.
His concerts feature works by Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff, favourites such as “Clair De Lune” and “Rhapsody In Blue”, as well as some Irish selections
The concert gets underway at 8pm with tickets priced at €10.
