At the launch of the Westlodge Hotel Fastnet Rally were Deputy Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Mary Hegarty; Miss Bantry, Laura Power and Mayor of Bantry, Kathleen Tessyman.

THE launch of the Westlodge Hotel Fastnet Rally took place on Friday evening last at the Westlodge Hotel in Bantry in front of a large attendance.

CORK County Council and An Taisce’s Clean Coasts Programme held a Coastcare Seminar for coastal groups in West Cork at the Westlodge Hotel in Bantry recently.

Presentations were given by Irish Water Safety, An Táisce, Cork County Council, West Cork Development Partnership, Glengarriff Tidy Beaches Action Group, Schull Tidy Towns, Seven Heads Walking Group, and Glengarriff Theatre Youth Group.

Attendees also included representatives from Dunbeacon Action Group, Lehanmore Community Co-op, Castletownbere Tidy Towns, Trahalan Beach Development Committee, Ballydehob Community Council, Rosscarbery Tidy Towns, Eyeries Tidy Towns, and Ardfield Tidy Towns.

The Co-Action fundraiser in Bantry

THERE was a great turnout for the first CoAction Valentines Extravaganza in the Westlodge Hotel, Bantry on Thursday night.

Local businesses set up stands displaying their goods and services available to give to that “special someone: on Valentine’s Day.

The night commenced with songs by local singing group Melody Matters led by Mary Egan and Ann Heap, followed by the main event, a fashion show compered by Ann Creedon and Gearoid O’Leary.

The models, CoAction facility users, dazzled the audience in glamorous outfits provided by several local fashion outlets.

Cork Rose, Kathryn Brennan, accompanied the gentlemen as they paraded on the runway.
