WEST Cork’s Steve Redmond has made history after becoming the first person ever to complete the gruelling Ocean’s 7 Challenge.

The 46-year-old Ballydehob endurance swimmer successfully completed the 19.5 km Tsugaru Strait swim in Japan at around 5.50pm Irish time on Saturday in a time of 14 hours 24 minutes and in the process swum into the sporting record books. [Read more...]

BALLYDEHOB endurance swimmer Steve Redmond has vowed to stay in Japan “as long as it takes” to complete the gruelling crossing of the 19.5 km Tsugaru Strait between the islands of Honshu and Hokkaido.

BALLYDEHOB endurance swimmer Steve Redmond has been forced to abandon his attempt to swim Japan’s 19.5 km Tsugaru Strait due to bad weather.

TODAY (Monday) In Japan, West Cork endurance swimmer Steve Redmond is preparing for his final swim of the Oceans 7 Challenge, the daunting Tsugaru Strait in Japan, which if he completes it will send him into the record books as the first person to complete the challenge.
