Clon young filmmakers film accepted for Fastnet Festival

THE West Cork Arts Centre has announced that Wheel of Life, the short film created by the Youth Vision Project, run as part of WCAC’s outreach programme, has been accepted for the Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival.

The film was also a senior finalist at the Young Irish Filmmaker awards at the Fresh Film Festival in Limerick in March.

The project was run in partnership with Crazy Croc Youth Cafe in Clonakilty and Ultralase Ireland and the film will be officially launched at the Youth Cafe in Clonakilty on Thursday, May 3rd.

Bantry set to wow fashionistas

BANTRY House takes a starring role in a new cutting edge fashion film made by Off the Rails presenter Sonya Lennon.

Sonya made the short film called Dais II in Bantry House with the help of Swiss-Irish filmmaker Christian Ammann.

It is one of a series of three short films being made to show at global fashion events to highlight the talents of Irish designers.

New film puts Courtmac on the map

The Blow Ins

A NEW short film, one of the first to be funded by the Cork Screen Commission, is set to put Courtmacsherry on the map.

Filming for The Blow Ins finished in Courtmac and Kilbrittain in September.

The film by independent Irish production company The Short Factory is a supernatural comedy written and directed by CJ Scuffins.

The film centres on mother of one Lorraine Egan, played by Jill Sartini, an inner city Dubliner whose father used to tell her stories about being out at sea as a sea rescuer.
