FIVE major school construction projects in West Cork have been given the official go-ahead as part of a national five-year plan announced by Education Minister Ruairi Quinn this morning (Monday).
The five West Cork projects which are to proceed are the new Gaelscoil Chloich na Coillte, Clonakilty; St Joseph’s & St John’s National School, Kinsale; the Kinsale Community School extension; the amalgamation of Mercy Heights, De La Salle and Rossa College in Skibbereen into one new school and an extension for Clonakilty Community School.
All five of the West Cork projects are expected to begin construction in 2014 or 2015.
