THE phrase “Every cloud has a silver lining” comes to mind as Kilmacabea Rowing Club battled the elements on a long day in Cork Harbour only to take home six silver medals accompanied by one set of bronze.
On a record breaking Sunday, the total tally of seven sets of county medals created a positive and optimistic atmosphere within the club as every team was supported to the last from the shore. [Read more...]

Union Hall report 2012
On a very wet day in Union Hall Kilmacabea Rowing Club managed to build on their success from the first round of the SWCYRA championship with another impressive haul of medals in the second round last Sunday. WITH just one week to go until the first championship regatta of the season, Rosscarbery Regatta last Sunday provided a stage for the rowers of Kilmacabea Rowing Club to impress ahead of next week’s all-important show down in Baltimore. THERE was a major milestone for Kilmacabea Rowing Club recently as their third fibreglass boat, ‘The Rocket III’, was blessed and officially launched at Glandore Pier.

KILMACABEA Rowing Club’s AGM for 2012 took place on Saturday, February 11th last.
Outgoing chairperson Kevin O’Callaghan reviewed the 2011 season, especially highlighting the success of the club’s underage crews on the water.
Six SWCYRA medals and four county medals was the impressive haul of Kilmacabea’s eight underage crews whilst the club’s newly formed overage crews showed great promise for 2012.
