Harbour dredging works go to tender

THE Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine have invited tenders from qualified and experienced engineering consultancy firms to carry out dredging works, including dredging and disposal of both contaminated and uncontaminated sediments at the Castletownbere Fishery Harbour Centre.

The works comprise dredging of the seabed, including (mainly) maintenance dredging and some capital dredging works, in the vicinity of the syncrolift boat lifting facility at Dinish Island.

Kinsale St Patrick’s Day parade returns after a six-year absence

PREPARATIONS are under way for Kinsale’s first St Patrick’s Day parade for six years with a full day of celebrations set to climax with a never to be forgotten parade on the sea.

School groups, community groups, artists, actors, musicians, performers, sports stars and proud West Cork citizens are all joining in as the parade returns to the picturesque streets of Kinsale this March 17th. [Read more...]
