THE freezing winds and heavy rain could not deter the large crowd who gathered for the Annual Bandon Easter commemoration which took place at the republican plot in St Patrick’s cemetery on Sunday last.
A sea of umbrellas made up the procession that followed the Bandon and District Pipe band.Local councillor Rachel McCarthy and Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD headed the procession.

Conway Tiger was the third leg of her wins in the feature Grade A trot. Matts Romeo a winner in Baltimore was the market leader despite a twenty yard handicap. Conway Tiger led from the start and was well positioned at the final turn.

IN a first display of its kind in West Cork, one shop in Skibbereen has gone that little bit extra to bring the Easter season to life with the first ever live Easter window display.
THERE was a large turnout in Bandon on Easter Sunday to hear Gerry Adams TD deliver the oration in St Patrick’s Cemetery on the 96th anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
More than 400 people were in attendance to listen to the Sinn Fein President and to honour those who fought in the rising at the republican plot in the local graveyard.
SINN Féin President and Louth TD Gerry Adams will be the main speaker at the annual Easter commemoration in Bandon on Easter Sunday.
The commemoration takes place at 12.30pm in St Patrick’s Cemetery and a large attendance is expected from across West Cork.
