Bill Deasy and Fr Pierce Cormac overall winners, honorary Cork people of the year David and Patsy Puttnam

 

ON the week, that marked the first anniversary, of the Tit Bonhomme trawler tragedy, Bill Deasy and Fr Pierce Cormac were the winners received the Cork Persons of the Year Award.

 

The award judges said Bill Deasy and Fr Cormac personified the community effort, when they helped co-ordinate the 25 day search for the five fishermen who died, when their trawler sank at the mouth of Glandore Harbour on January 15th, 2012.
