Two killed in Lissarda collision

AN elderly couple have died and four other people have been injured following a two-car, head-on collision on the main N22 Cork – Killarney road at Lissarda near Crookstown.

Fatal accident in Skibbereen

GARDAÍ in Skibbereen are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal road traffic collision at Mohonagh, Skibbereen, that occurred on Sunday evening.

The collision involving a car and motorcycle happened at around 5pm on the main N71, Skibbereen to Ballydehob road about three miles outside Skibbereen.

Tributes paid to road accident victim

TRIBUTES have been paid to Sean Hurley from Ballinhassig who tragically died in a road accident last Wednesday.

Twenty five-year-old Mr Hurley’s jeep struck a tree in very poor driving conditions at Bawnleigh on the Halfway to Kinsale road.

He was very well known in the motorcycling community and was also the brother of RTÉ sports presenter Jacqui Hurley.

He was a former pupil of St Brogan’s College in Bandon and was very popular in the motorcycling community across the country.

Comedian and fellow motorcycling enthusiast PJ Gallagher described him as “one of the nicest men in motor bikes”.
