WELL known Marine Correspondent Tom MacSweeney will officially open the new Castletownbere RNLI lifeboat station on Saturday, May 18th next.

 

The ceremony will include a service of dedication and the official handing over the station from the institution to Castletownbere RNLI.

THE Castletownbere Development Association Ltd held their AGM on Tuesday, April 30th at 9pm in The Forge, Castletownbere.

 

Chairperson Michael Downey was unable to attend so Vice Chair Noel Forde conducted the meeting on his behalf, beginning by thanking all those in attendance for their support.

Slimmers present cheque to Castletownbere Lifeboat

Arts 4 All in Castletownbere

Art 4 allCommunity artist Sean O`Laoighaire and Publican Kay Breen present Matron Cathy Sheehan with the proceeds of the Art 4 All Pop-Up Gallery and Coffee Morning in aid of St Joseph’s Community Hospital held at Breen`s Lobster bar recently.

 

Arts 4 All is a new and dynamic Arts Group in Beara, Following on from successfully graduating from Fetac Level 5 Community Arts Practice and Fetac Level 6 Arts in the Community Courses lead By Beara’s “Artist in Residence, Sean O’Laoghaire.

ON Wednesday 5th December 2012 he school children in Scoil an Chroí Ró-Naofa, Castletownbere planted 500 tulip bulbs with the help of Connie Downey from Garra Fadó Garden Centre, Eyeries, who very generously donated 100 bulbs to the cause.

 

The day began with Connie giving a lesson to the children in the art of bulb planting.
