LABOUR TD for Cork South-West Michael McCarthy has said that Ireland’s Presidency of the EU is a prime opportunity to secure an agreement on CAP reform and in turn support the growing agri-food sector.

New funding for West Cork food businesses

THE West Cork Development Partnership (WCDP) has announced that funding is now available to support agri-food enterprises in West Cork.

Funding at a rate of 40 per cent and up to a maximum value of €200,000 is available to micro, small and medium enterprises adding value to agri-food products.

On March 6th Environment Minister Phil Hogan announced that €5 million in funding will be provided in 2012/2013 to support agri-food enterprises in rural Ireland.

The WCDP is encouraging businesses with project proposals to get in contact with Development Officer Kevin Santry on 023 883 4035 or by email at kevin@wcdp.ie at their earliest convenience.

Funding for Agri-Food enterprises is vital to West Cork

FINE Gael TD for Cork South West, Noel Harrington has welcomed the announcement by Environment Minister Phil Hogan that €5 million in funding will be provided in 2012/2013 to support the creation and development of agri-food enterprises in rural Ireland.

Based on recent research conducted by the Local Development sector this funding has the potential to create more than 200 jobs directly as well as sustaining a number of jobs currently available in the sector.
